Who am I?
Hi, I’m Meg O’Malley (she/her), a social and environmental justice educator from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.
For over a decade, I’ve been supporting young people to become active citizens and change makers, both in schools and in after-school programs. Alongside this, I’ve worked with a range of non-profits, social enterprises, and purpose-led start-ups across sustainable food, fashion, farming, and education. I’ve led creative projects, built ethical businesses, and developed learning initiatives that explore how we can create a more just and liveable future.
Meg & the Wildflowers brings these experiences together. My goal is to share what I’ve learned with as many families and educators as possible to help instil hope, courage, and agency in children as they navigate an uncertain world.
At just six years old, a group of kids taught me that you're never too young to start caring about and shaping the world.
What's in a name? The story behind Meg & the Wildflowers.
Former Student
Megan has inspired me to always speak up. She has taught me countless lessons in life, whether it is about nature or just to question everything. The connections with sustainability and friends I made are ones I will value for life.
Former Student
I used to be scared to do things that challenged me, Megan showed me that challenges can help me grow. Now I love to tackle things, even if they scare me.
Former Student
Megan guided me in exploring both nature and global challenges, teaching me how to address these issues step by step. As a person, she showed me how to embrace and encourage change, she played a key role in my personal development and signified the opportunity to uncover new perspectives and possibilities in life.
Former Student
I used to be hesitant about trying to make change and I wasn’t too sure where to start but Megan and her amazing Changemakers programme gave me the initiative and confidence to start.
Former Student
Before, I always wanted to do something but never had the courage to because I thought no one would listen. But then Megan showed me that it doesn’t matter if they don’t listen, you just have to put in the effort, or else nothing gets done.

I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country across this continent. I pay my deepest respects to Elders past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the original storytellers, educators, and change makers of Country. For generations, they have been on the frontlines in the fight for justice, truth, and sovereignty. Sovereignty has never been ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
